How to Delete Twitter Account on Phone
In 2006, board members of Odeo, a podcasting company, held a meeting. They described it as a ‘daylong brainstorming session’. One of the members was an undergraduate student at New York University by the name Jack Dorsey.
Dorsey thought it would be brilliant for a person to communicate with a small group via an SMS service. Evan Williams pitched this idea to Noah Grass, in its initial code known as twttr.
Williams had been motivated by Flickr as well as the character length of American SMS short codes. The length was one of five characters.

At the time, the domain twitter.com was unavailable. Six months after the launch of twttr was when the crew purchased the twitter domain and changed the name of the service.
The First Tweet
For memorability purposes, the developers adopted the short code 40404. The first twitter message was published on 21st March 2006 at 9:50 PM Pacific Standard Time, with Dorsey publishing “just setting up my twttr.”
The first prototype was used by Odeo employees as an internal service. It was developed by Dorsey and a contractor by the name Florian Weber. On July 15th 2006, the full version was introduced publicly.
During major events, twitter’s usage tends to spike. Such events include the FIFA World cup, NBA Finals, The Superbowl, The US elections just to mention a few.

In a similar fashion, usernames are preceded by the ‘@’ sign. This is used in mentioning and replying to other users.
Sharing a tweet with other users is also quite simple as it involves just clicking the retweet button. This button is located within the tweet.
